Introduction

Putting an edge on your favorite chisel or plane iron blade is easy with the Planet Honing Guide. Position the tool in the guide to match your angle of grind and tighten. The guide rolls on top of the stone with the edge in contact with the stone. A few strokes later you have a razor sharp edge. It holds tools from 2mm to 65mm wide at a constant angle.To use the guide:Ensure that the roller rotates freely. Oil and clean it after use.For honing a plane iron, use the wider jaws. To hold it at a 25 angle, project the end 50 mm (2″) from the edge of the jaws. Furthermore, to hold it at a 30 angle, project the end 38 mm (1-1/2″) from the edge of the jaws.For honing a wood chisel, use the narrow jaws. To hold it at a 25 angle, project the end 40 mm (1-5/8″) from the edge of the jaws.
