Start by using a safety tool of a bigger size than the tap, to drill away any spurs or broken protrusions. 2. Then choose the most suitable safety tool for the size of the snapped tap (see table). It is very important that the safety tool is held securely, and its working speed is between 1000 to 3500rpm. 3. Drill down to remove all of the broken tap. Use a good flow of coolant wherever possible.
